1. Routine or less urgent health care is provided by appointment. This applies to care for medical, mental, and dental health needs, and appointments are prioritized based on the severity of the condition. 2. A doctor may recommend that you be seen by a member of the Medical team or you may request an appointment through the Sick Call process. 3. If you feel ill or need urgent care, please submit a Sick Call Request. Sick Calls are received during the day shift each day of the week. The Housing Unit Officer will direct you in the process to turn in the form, and you will be evaluated by the nurse do determine if further care is needed. 4. You may be scheduled for an appointment in the clinic as part of the Sick Call care or to help you with other issues. It is important you come to the appointment as it is scheduled, so that your care is not delayed. If you decline the scheduled appointment, a new Sick Call Request will be needed to ask for another appointment referral. MEDICATION 1. You are responsible for taking medications that are prescribed to you while in the facility. They will be offered to you at the appropriate times, and if you decline to take them, it will be considered a refusal. 2. If you take medication for chronic care or have been prescribed medication while in the facility, you will receive it from the nurse during the medication administration process. Medication rounds are conducted on the housing unit at regularly scheduled times throughout the day and evening. You will be called to the medication line at the times the doctor has directed you to take the medication. If you decline to join the line and take the medication at that time, you must sign a refusal form. Medications that are prescribed to use as needed must be accepted during the regular medication rounds and will not be available overnight or at other times.
