Resident Handbook, page 63.
Incoming and Outgoing mail may be opened and inspected for contraband or other lawful purposes. Incoming and Outgoing mail will be confiscated and disapproved for mailing or delivery to a resident, if it is determined the mail is detrimental to security, good order and public safety. Residents may not send mail to any person who has advised the Director of Justice Services that they do not wish to receive mail from the resident. The parents or legal guardians of a person under the age of 18 may advise that mail is not to be sent to such person. Upon receipt of such advisement, the Integrity Unit Manager will prepare an acknowledgment specifying that the resident will not be permitted to send mail to the person requesting the correspondence restriction and that such person should return any further mail received from the resident and notify the internal affairs officer of the attempt to correspond. After the resident is notified of the correspondence restriction, any further attempt to correspond will be considered a violation and will subject you to disciplinary actions.
