Resident Handbook, page 42.
Mental health services are available in the facility; a variety of needs, including individual assessments, counseling, group therapies, and psychiatric care can be addressed by submitting a Mental Health Request form to the Officer or Nurse. A Mental Health Request Form can be turned in at any time to medical staff. A licensed clinical social worker will meet with you to evaluate your needs and determine the appropriate care. When residents receive mental health services, what they share is private. Your mental health provider does not talk with your judge, attorney, or anyone else about what you discuss - unless you give written permission. However, there are exceptions to this rule. If you tell a mental health provider that you are feeling like you might harm yourself or someone else, or if you know of a child who is being harmed, they are required to protect you or the other person and will take steps to do so. A judge can order your records to be provided to the court, but this is not common.
