Resident Handbook, page 7.
While you are incarcerated, you will be expected to keep yourself neat and clean at all times and maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene. You will be expected to shower daily and wash your hands after use of the bathroom facilities and before eating. You will naturally come into contact with many individuals; it is possible you may come into contact with someone who is a carrier of viruses or bacteria. A person can be a carrier without knowing it or without showing any signs of being sick. When proper hygiene is not practiced, these germs may be transmitted to others. Some of the diseases which can be transmitted are extremely serious such as hepatitis, and some less severe such as influenza (flu) and the common cold. For your own health, we strongly urge you to follow these simple guidelines: ➢ Do not share needles, syringes or tattoo instruments. ➢ Do not share your toothbrush or other personal items, which may result in the exchange of blood or bodily fluids. Do not share bars of soap. ➢ Do not drink from another person's cup. ➢ Do not share your towels, washcloths or clothing with other residents.
